The COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has swept around the world. Everywhere, routines have been disrupted, but pressing needs must still be met. The Okanagan Learning Foundation salutes the bravery and selflessness of our doctors and nurses, our grocery clerks and delivery drivers, and our first responders across the community. Thank you for all you do!

Everyone has a role to play, and we do too. Of all of the programs supported by the Okanagan Learning Foundation, the one that responds to the most immediate needs of our students is the Food For Thought Program. Thanks to the unflinching support of our donors, volunteers and the Principals at W.L. Seaton, Clarence Fulton and Charles Bloom Senior Secondary Schools, we will continue to buy and provide groceries every week for thirty-three families in need. In addition, every month the Foundation will be buying and providing those families with a “Good Food Box” filled with fruit and vegetables from the Good Food Box Society of the North Okanagan.

All the food we provide will be handled in accordance with recommended hygiene protocols.

In these troubled times, the goodwill of people in communities like ours shines like a beacon. We hope that you and the ones you love are healthy and remain so. Stay home, stay safe, and we’ll meet again.
